Well, so here I am. I know. The last post was Halloween, I figured I should get on here and update. And I have pictures. Unfortunately, I have recently acquired a new camera, and some of my pictures (like the Halloween pictures) are on my old camera. So you are only going to get pics from the day after Thanksgiving on!! I'll catch the rest up later.
In the car, on the way out to Dodge City to visit my Grandma Mallett's family for Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful trip, we saw lots of family we hadn't seen in years. My whole fam went, which is pretty impressive.
I love her baby face.
One of Wrigley's newest tricks - forward rolls. We just enrolled in gymnastics, and she love love loves it!!!
Her other new trick - taking her clothes off. Apparently she is thinking she wants to potty train. So I right now am trying to potty train two toddlers at the same time. Never a dull moment.
Grandma and Grandpa got us a hotel with a pool - very awesome, especially for Wrigley.
Everyone got in - Em, Tara and Adam made a special trip to Walmart for swimming duds, and Hannah borrowed from Andy!!
Cam is not nearly as excited about the water as Wre. He's much more excited about Grammy and snuggling with her.
After church on Sunday, we all had lunch with my great aunt and uncle before leaving. Cam looooves sitting by Papa!!!
I think she was concentrating on dessert. . .
I'm not sure what this was all about. Probably, "Mommy, take my picture so I can see."
Yeah, she's drinking creamer.
This is a picture of what is left of the farm that my Grandma Mallett grew up on. The house was burned down deliberately a few years back, because it was hazardous. It was really fun to go see this, and meant a lot to us. There was a particular fascination with the tumbleweed. It's like a whole other world out there!!!!!
Here is the windmill that Adam claims he is going to move from Lewis, Kansas into his backyard. Good luck.
This is the school my grandma attended, in Lewis.
This is the old Church of Christ in Lewis, which is now out of use. It reminded us of Vandalia, just a little bit.
As we were leaving Lewis, a train went by with all these tanks on it. VERRRRRYYYYY cool!!!!
Cam and Wrigley comparing s/p shakers at McDonalds somewhere in KS.
Excited about their apple pies.
It was kind of a cool McD's, with a fireplace. It was snowing outside, so that was a very welcome heat source!!
Hannah tried to get them both out of motion at the same time.
As Adam said - some people take pictures in front of national monuments, we take pictures in McDonalds. Go figure. If you didn't know, I did my first ever craft show with my friend Mel this past Saturday. It was really fun - maybe not as sucessful as we hoped, but so exciting!!!!! Here are pictures of our booth.
I made the tutus, as well as the totes that are in the baskets on the table, and then jumpers that are on the back display and the ladder. My friend Mel - who you can see in the third picture - made the aprons, the barrettes, nursing covers, and bibs and burp cloths. It was so fun, and we are really looking into expanding and trying again. We have a website and are just so excited about the possibilities!!!
Too cute. I'm going to be sad when her hair isn't that color anymore.
Sunday we went and helped my mom put up her Christmas tree, like we do every year. Cam was all into helping this year.
Wrigley was all into riding the horse, as she usually is. Apparently this time as an Oregon Ducks fan.
Cam, demonstrating the literal meaning of stockings.
This is Adam's Santa that he made long ago, probably in about 2nd grade. It goes up on the tree every year, and is only slightly less hilarious than the piece of bread Emily puts up every year. Can we say mold?????
Wrigley was pretty excited about dessert.
Monday we went to see Santa at Crown Center. I don't have a picture of the actual event, b/c I was holding Wrigley on my lap, sitting next to Santa myself. The picture they took is hilarious, though, just like last year. Love it. Here is Wrigley not so patiently waiting, wearing one of the tutus I made. I also made her shirt.
I made Cam's shirt too. Standing in front of the EBT Santa, leftover from the old department store from the 30s.
Andy holding Wrigley and Mel's daughter Kennady, also wearing a tutu I made. Kennady will be two in March, but she is bigger than my little smidgen Wre!!!
We had to make a visit to Daddy's work while we were down at Crown Center. The kids are working hard.
On the way back to the car, we got ice cream. Cam is wearing his hat from Fritz's. They each got their own ice cream - a big deal!!!!
Mayor's Christmas Tree, from through the window.
We went to Aunt Hannah's concert Monday night, and Cam and Wre were blinded by the performance.
Aunt Hannah, in her last Christmas concert at LSHS!!! Hope that helped catch you all up!!!! |
